“The savvy Cozumel traveler knows that “north coast” of Cozumel island has it all: privacy- far from the maddening crowds, location- a few minutes to town, water- some of the best clarity for snorkeling, and walking- four miles of paved and lighted trails from the golf course to town. Walking north out of San Miguel, you pass the President’s house but before you reach the governor’s house, you see Cantamar. Not a high rise, but a nine condo unit with its own private oceanfront beach and pool.

Decorating this condo was an emotional process for us. Jill is a fine decorator. Truett is an art collector and art history guy. And this was our first Mexican property and the sights and colors of Mexico mattered to us from both points of view.

It is always about the sea. Up a flight of stairs from the condo entrance, your condo peeks over the palms for a 180 degree vista of the bluest Caribbean waters you will ever see, and only 100 feet away. Welcome to My Cozumel Condo 303.

Our condo's private shore area cascades down on three levels. There is a pool and sun deck level with a cold water shower, then you step down on either side of the pool to the sand beach where there are two palapas and a pergola. It is easy access into the Caribbean with a ladder or a easy jump from the pier. A shower and a wash tank will keep your gear salt free.

Expect a fiesta, as our 2 bedroom condo welcomes you with the vibrant colors and decorative arts of Mexico. The spacious living and dining room areas both enjoy a stunning view of the sea. Walls are filled with painted murals and decorated with Mayan woven pupilles. Furnishings are hand carved from Guadalajara with a lovely patina of age. The living room is a step down with two sectional couches and an entertainment center.

Meals can be enjoyed in a spacious dining area or outdoors on the balcony.  The kitchen has been newly remodeled and is beautiful!  We preserved many of the unique qualities of the kitchen such as the hand carved cabinets but have expanded the space and incorporated many modern appliances and amenities. The new kitchen is perfect to prepare a snack of chips and guacamole, cook a gourmet meal, or hire a local chef to cook for you and your group.

Your master bedroom has a King-sized bed with both an in-room whirlpool and a large walk-in shower. The bedroom has its own balcony with grand views of the sea. The second bedroom is spacious with two double beds, TV/DVD, a bathroom with shower, and an island view window.

Amenities? There is a flat screen LCD TV with Cable, a VCR/DVD, and an IPod docking entertainment system, a spotting scope, local phone with free US calling, a washer and dryer, hair dryers in the bathrooms and regular maid service. There is both central air and a mini split and unlimited drinking water. As many of our guest report, this place easily becomes home.
